Its been quite a while since I last updated my weblog. Well there is not much going on at this time. All right there actually IS a lot going on at this time, maybe that’s why I couldn’t update my weblog. I’m currently working on 3 projects so I have a ton of work to do. I’m really amazed when I see some of the other the Radio community weblogs. When do you people find time to gather all this information an comment on it? And experiment with Radio programming at the same time!!!!! Wow, I’m starting to get depressed !!I can’t even write something vaguely interesting let alone create truly exciting weblog! But I’ll keep on trying : )))))

Well, today I actually bought Radio! Yes, I actually gave money for software !I admit that I rarely buy software. Almost everything I have on my machine is (ehm….) pirated, free or came with the hardware. I’ve never bought original MS software. I only buy original copies of computer games because I really admire the work game programmers do. Their originality and skills never stop to amaze me ! For the same reason I bought Radio. I really admire Userland’s work. Your software is not perfect, I don’t even agree with some of your ideas (I’m a Java programmer)! But your work is original, honest and really fun to play with. In my work I often come across truly abysmal and ridiculously overpriced software. Through my experience I learned to appreciate good software and, whenever allowed by my miserable income, reward it! Gentlemen (and ladies) you deserve every sent! Thank you, and keep up the good work.

About 3 years ago I begun to program in UserTalk. I must admit it was great fun. You can do many cool things with it and it became almost addictive! But I as a professional I prefer Java. Scripting is more laid back-chill out kind of thing but ST programming languages give a great sense of power. I don’t know, perhaps I have succumbed to the dark side of programming. But I still have a soft spot for UserTalk. I hope some day Userland will publish some sort of full tutorial about Usertalk. It might help me remember the old scripting days 🙂

I don’t like Wired. To me it looks shallow and dated, trying desperately to impress bored and disappointed readers. Perhaps it once meant something but not any more. It looks horrible too!! But it has the «Women in Tech» section, very few publications (tech or otherwise) mention anything about the position of women in IT. It doesn’t say much but its something. I feel very isolated sometimes in this job. I wonder if any of the women bloggers are working as programmers. If you stumbled on this weblog and you are a woman working in IT contact me if you like. Women programmers are very rare (especially in Greece) and I would really like to hear how you cope in an almost exclusively male profession.
